"I received a really different kind of care at Avive. I felt supported, very safe and not judged for what has been a long-term mental health and substance abuse battle. I was treated with respect and kindness, which helped me to see myself in a different light. The team really listened, and the content of the daily program was very helpful. The focus on incorporating exercise into the health plan really helped me and I have continued with exercise now that I am home. My life has improved considerably and I feel hopeful. I also know that I can go back as part of my aftercare journey if I need further support."

"I was admitted to Avive Health for chronic alcohol addiction at my absolute rock bottom, following several unsuccessful attempts at staying sober over an eight to 10 year period. My experience at Avive was different to previous rehabs. It struck a near perfect balance between delivering the professional treatment I so desperately needed and allowed me the freedom and autonomy to simultaneously 'live', which I consider critical. It was a far more practical and realistic model of rehabilitation. The dual diagnosis program was particularly beneficial, and facilitated by kind, empathetic and professional counselling staff. The location of the rehab is excellent - away from the hustle and bustle of city life but also close enough to the 'real' world, which made taking leave pleasurable. I have now been sober for over three months and Avive was the catalyst for me to finally take my sobriety seriously. I cannot thank the staff enough for their contribution to completely turning my life around."
Aaron, Dual diagnosis program
"I cannot speak more highly of the professional and vital support and care offered by the staff at Avive Mornington Peninsula. I am me - more fully myself - than I can remember being in thirty years. I am in tune with my body again, have had space to learn and practice self care skills and allowed space to ‘test out’ the real me. All staff - nurses, my psychiatrist, cleaners, kitchen staff, allied health and administration have all been of enormous value to me on my journey. Thank you for assisting me while I did the challenging work. I am well set up for the rest of my time."
